ROCKLAND — The Rockland Business Women's Network honored three local businesswomen at its annual fundraising dinner June 1st, 2011 at The View in Piermont, NY.
The 30-year-old organization, which has 150 members, will also awarded three $1,000 scholarships to three local female high school students.
The dinner also featured a raffle, silent and live auctions and entertainment by the Persuasions, an acapella group that began in Brooklyn in 1962. Group members were celebrity guest judges during a sing-off competition in which five people performed.
The three honorees:
• Jill Pryor, director of Pryor PR Inc., who will receive the Woman of the Year award.
• Cecilia Halverson, executive director of Home Aides of Rockland Inc., who was named 2011 Community Service Woman of the Year/Charity of Choice. The New City agency will also receive $1,500 from the networking organization.
• Arlene Levine, owner of Arlene Levine Design, will receive the Rockland Business Women's Network Service Woman of the Year award. She has maintained the network's website and is its co-vice president of marketing.

Rockland Business Women’s Network (RBWN) is an enthusiastic and energetic business networking group that is dedicated to women helping women. RBWN offers a variety of opportunities to help local women in business thrive, including monthly networking & educational programs and special events – with a focus on building personal relationships, leadership, and professional development for women business owners. RBWN, a non-profit organization, has been providing a supportive learning environment for hundreds of business women in and around Rockland County since 1979.
