Anthony Wayne State Park & Appalachian Trail, New York

If you love the great outdoors, hiking, backpacking and camping, then you may want to check out the  Appalachian Trail that's accessible via the Anthony Wayne Recreation Area right in your back yard if you live in or near Rockland County, New York!

This is a historic continuous marked footpath that goes from Katahdin in Maine to Springer Mountain in Georgia, a distance of about 2160 miles and cuts through Rockland County, NY.  Many trace the origins of the Trail to a 1921 article by Benton MacKaye entitled
